His poems of Jackson were published in a brochure in Greenville, S.C., prior to a statue dedication for Jackson. Dan's passion is to educate people on the history of baseball through his writings. Dan published his first book in 2003, Baseball Poems and other Selected Works. Dan is the husband of Doreen Mezzanotte D'Alessio and has a son named Mickey. They reside in North Providence, R.I.

Patrick Little is a Barrington, R.I. native and an Associated Press award-winning sportscaster. Patrick graduated in 1994 from St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. and began working as a producer, reporter and anchor at WMUR in Manchester. In 1998 he joined the Eyewitness News team as a weekend sports anchor, and was promoted to sports director at WPRI on Jan. 1, 2000. Patrick is also involved in the community and is on the Big Brother of Rhode Island advisory board, and is active in yearly fundraisers for both Meeting Street School and the Special Olympics of Rhode Island. Deborah Beauvais is a native of North Attleboro, Mass., but has lived in Rehoboth for the last 30 years. After 17 years of marriage, Deborah’s husband passed away, but she finished raising her three daughters on her own – as a widow, Deborah put all three children through college. In 2003 Deborah created her business, Empowered Connections, on a suggestion from one of her daughters. Empowered Connections is a personalized, prescreened matchmaking service, and Deborah believes that her 13 years of experience as a healthcare recruiter has enhanced her ability to connect people successfully. Deborah also has a radio show on WARL 1320 AM called Love Bites, which airs on Tuesday nights from 8-10.

Dean Solitro grew up in Cranston, R.I., and went on to play baseball for Cranston West High School. After high school, Dean pitched for the Community College of Rhode Island’s baseball team, before playing three more years at Rhode Island College and then nine years in the Newport Sunset League. Dean’s media career began when won a local radio contest by reading a sports flash for 790 The Score, which allowed him the opportunity to co-host the Sports Beat with local radio personality Scott Cordishi. He then took a job working for WNRI 1380 AM in Woonsocket, where he became a co-host of The Bullpen Show. The next stop for Dean was WARL 1320 AM; there he co-hosted The Wild Bunch and The Sports Fanatics, before leaving radio for print. Dean now writes monthly columns for the Sports Journal.
